What are the requirements to use the CareerSpace System?
CareerSpace supports Macintosh, Windows, and Unix/Linux environments using standard browsers such as Internet Explorer v5.0 or later; Firefox v1.0 or later; and Safari v1.0 or later (NOTE: HTML WYSIWYG editing is not supported on Safari).

How long will it take me to create my CareerSpace Portfolio?
This depends somewhat on which level of service you choose:

Basic and Core – At these levels you will only need to create the content for your CareerSpace portfolio, so there is no minimum amount of time. It is based solely on how long you take to create the content.
Premium – At this level you will begin to take greater advantage of the CareerSpace tools. We would estimate that a minimum of 3 weeks is needed to complete your Portfolio. We allow a maximum of 3 weeks for your respondents to complete your Reach 360 assessment, and most clients will take this long to complete the CareerSpace Brand Portfolio and Reach 360 View workbooks. However, you may start working on the content for your CareerSpace Portfolio as soon as you wish. Once you have completed the content to your satisfaction and a Brand Coach has reviewed it, you may publish your portfolio to the Web as soon as you wish.
Elite – At this level you will be working with our Brand Coaches to complete the CareerSpace Brand Portfolio workbook, as well as asking individuals to complete your Reach 360 assessment. It will take 4 weeks for you to complete the workbook assignments and receive the assessment feedback from your respondents. It will take CareerSpace no more than one week after that to write the content for your CareerSpace Portfolio.

How many choices of styles (templates) do I have for my CareerSpace Portfolio?
There are currently 15 different template designs for your CareerSpace Portfolio. Each design has 2 or 3 different color schemes that may be used, as well as 2 or 3 different fonts. For those templates that use graphic elements in the design, there are a number of images in both color and black and white, which you may select from for use in your Portfolio. You may also select which pages you would like included with your portfolio, and choose from a list of titles for each included page.

Can I customize my CareerSpace Portfolio?
As mentioned above, you have a number of choices with the features built into the system to customize your Portfolio. At this point we do not allow users to modify items such as basic page layouts or page navigation.

Can I use my existing resume with my CareerSpace Portfolio?
Yes, there are two methods to upload an existing resume. The first would be to copy the text from your current resume (if it is in a word processing or page layout program), and then paste that text into your CareerSpace Portfolio Resume page. Another method for Elite clients would be to upload your existing resume as a file that would be included in the listing of available files within your Portfolio.

Can I use my university’s resume template with my CareerSpace Portfolio?
Yes. As mentioned in the previous question, you could either copy and paste your current template into your CareerSpace Portfolio Resume page and edit the text there, or, for Elite clients, complete your template offline and upload the completed file to be included in the listing of available files within your Portfolio.

Does my CareerSpace Portfolio protect personal information such as phone numbers and email addresses?
One of the features of CareerSpace Portfolios is a contact page allowing individuals to provide you with information on how to contact them. When a potential employer or other individual completes your form, you are notified by a CareerSpace system message and email that you have received a contact request. Therefore you do not need to include personal phone numbers or email addresses in your CareerSpace Portfolios, unless you choose to do so.

Who can view my CareerSpace Portfolio and how would they access it?
When you choose to “publish” your Portfolio by selecting “Make Portfolio Public” on your My Portfolio page, it may then be viewed by anyone at http://my.careerspace.com/portfolio(where the name you selected for your portfolio replaces the word portfolio in the URL).

Can I edit the content of my CareerSpace Portfolio any time I want?
Yes, you can. Go to the My Portfolio tab on your dashboard, select the page you want to edit, click on the page, and when the page appears click on “edit this page”. Make sure to save your edits by clicking the “Save” button when you are finished making changes.

If I subscribe to one level, may I upgrade at a later date to another level?
Yes, by clicking the “Upgrade My Account” link on your “My Portfolio” tab, you will be able to upgrade your account at any time. If you update your account within the first thirty days of your subscription, any fee you have already paid will be fully credited to the purchase price of the upgrade you select. After the first thirty days, no credit will be applied to the purchase price of the upgrade.

What will the fee be to renew my CareerSpace subscription?
We have not yet finalized the renewal fees for CareerSpace. Our current plan is to provide a menu of choices, which will include selecting such items as simply renewing hosting; updating your Reach 360 assessment; and having your CareerSpace Portfolio updated by our CareerSpace staff. We will provide additional details as soon as possible.
